The MG Dance Club was established with the vision to foster the hidden language of the soul, and to inspire every member to be a resilient, responsible and respectable dancer. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.

Over the years, the club has grown from a small group of just 30 students to 82 members, each with the same passion and love for the art form. It is a nurturing yet disciplined environment, building itself on close bonds which hold the club together as

One Breath, One Dance, One Family.

The Dance Club seeks not only to be a blessing through our performances but also to be a support system, always standing by one another through trying times.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: What style of dance do you usually focus on/learn in the studio?
A: We do mainly Contemporary dance! However, there are also other opportunities for us to explore other styles like Jazz, Hiphop, Lyrical and Ballet. For example, we often have a Hiphop item in our biannual production "Dance Night".

Q: Do I need to have dance background/ballet background to join the CCA?

A: Nope! During the audition, our Coach and teachers assesses if you have potential. Besides, many of our current dancers did not start out with a dance background. Just come willing to learn!

Q: How is the environment of the CCA like?

A: Our dancers are very friendly and most are pretty funny and loud. The seniors are always very welcoming and open to answering your questions and helping you! We also prioritise cultivating a culture of support and love in our CCA.

Q: What opportunities do we have to perform?

A: We have two main events: Singapore Youth Arts Festival and Dance Night. In addition, we perform in school events such as Chinese New Year and Teachers' Day. Head over to our "PERFORMANCES" page to learn more.

Q: Are there any leadership opportunities in MGDance?

A: Yes, of course! There are opportunities for dancers to choreograph their own item, lead their dance batch, as well as opportunities to be part of the Executive Committee (EXCO) from Secondary 2 onwards.
